Private Meditation for Groups
In addition to working with individuals and couples, I also offer private meditation classes for groups. Whether it is a small collection of friends or a workplace mindfulness training, I have done it all. I have worked in addiction treatment facilities, for local governments, at yoga studios, and for various companies and firms around the world.
My Practice
My name is Matthew Sockolov, and I was first introduced to meditation as a young teenager. I have practiced in various traditions and spent time at various retreats and monasteries including Abhayagiri, Wat Metta, Deer Park, and Spirit Rock.
With the blessing of my teacher, I was empowered to teach Buddhist meditation after studying at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. I opened the One Mind Dharma center in Sonoma County, California, and authored the bestselling book Practicing Mindfulness.
Today, I work with individuals and couples from around the world offering mindfulness coaching, counseling, and private meditation classes. Some are new to meditation and want to learn what it’s all about. Some have years or decades of experience, and just want a trained teacher to help direct their practice. Whatever they bring to our sessions, we approach with mindfulness, compassion, and patience.
